Bank of Communications (BoCom) was founded in 1908 and today is one of the largest commercial banks in China, based on total assets. It has a network of some 2,800 branches including overseas branches in Singapore, Tokyo, New York, and representative offices in London and Frankfurt. HSBC Holdings holds close to a 20% interest in BoCom. Bank of Communications New York Branch was established in 1991 as federal-chartered wholesale banking institution dedicated to serving commercial and industrial business in the U.S.A. and promoting Sino-American trade. The Bank’s Board of Directors is composed of 16 directors, including 4 executive directors, 7 non-executive directors, and 5 independent non-executive directors. Hu Huaibang is the Chairman of Bank of Communications.
